“Dagar the Desert Hawk and the Sons of Darkness” is a two-part graphic novel which chronicles the story of a adventurer who happens to be a convert to Islam. With a Muslim main character, the story aims to provide younger Muslim audiences with heroic role models to counter negative portrayals.
Although the story is set in 1940’s (in order to provide a few history lessons along the way), it maintains a ‘modern’ tone with memorable characters including Ayesha, a burqa-clad ninja and Zayd, a twelve-year old fan of Lovecraft.
